Julian Loveland

2nd Generation Luthier

Julian got a taste of violin work helping out around the shop on summer vacations. He realized he had an aptitude and love for this kind of work. In 2009 joined our staff full time. After learning the basics of set up and repair of violins, violas and cellos, he has steadily worked to learn restoration techniques. Captivated by the lore of over 500 years of violin making, Julian loves studying the various makes of violins and their histories. Through hands on examination and reading the vast violin literature, he is constantly expanding his violin knowledge. Expertise is a hard won asset acquired by the enthusiastic work of developing one’s eye. Julian is up to the task and looks forward to serving our customers for many years to come!
